Upper Hutt Upper Hutt is part of Greater Wellington. It lies on the banks of the Hutt river in the hills northeast of Wellington and Lower Hutt. Just half an hour's drive from downtown Wellington, the city has one of the last remaining stands of Podocarp Forest in the Wellington area at Bartons Bush.
