Vientiane Most of the city can be reached by foot otherwise a tuk-tuk is recommended. Several places rent motorcycles (but seldom helmets) but be aware that there is traffic lights that are easy to miss. The police are usually standing next to it to collect bribes from foreigners who do not have the energy to hand in their drivers license and show up at the station the next day to pay the official fee, 6USD is usually the correct bribe.
