Bhopal Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is mainly famous because it is the place where one of the most terrible disasters with chemical plants took place. Having said that, it is fair to add that the present city of Bhopal is quite a pleasant place to spend some time. It has great parks, excellent upper and lower lakes and a beautiful pink mosque, the Taj-ul Masjid. if you have some extra time to spend, visit the Birla Museum, the Tagore Memorial and the National archives.
