Ishigaki Island Ishigaki island is the main island in the Yaeyama Archipelago; an island chain about 420km southwest of Okinawa island. This Island is nationally noted for it's large number of artistic people that are born and raised on the island. Ishigaki's beautiful natural features include the Ryugujo limestone caves, Shiraho Reef, Mount Omoto, Kabira Bay, as well as unique pottery and textiles.
