Sanya As a busy port and tourist resort on the southern tip of Hainan Island, Sanya is the second-largest city on the Island with its own airport 10 minutes from town center, but is nonetheless a laid-back location where casual clothes are worn for almost every occasion and life proceeds at an unhurried pace. On the western outskirts of Sanya there’s a community of around 5000 Hui .minority, where colorful headscarves of the Muslim women are a familiar sight, brightening the town’s streets. If you want to take some mangoes or coconut-made snacks home, Sanya Market is an ideal shopping market selling typically fresh Asian food, tropical fruits, and live seafood.
