IstanbulLearning Turkish as a "yabanci" [foreigner] is not really easy, but the people - as everywhere - really appreciate if you make an effort. If you want to learn basic words and sentences buy a Turkish language course which is available in every book shop selling English language books. There are quite a few on the Istiklal Caddesi between Tünel and Taksim. Turkish is a very complicated language to learn with some special letters in the alphabet.
