Quweira The last stop before you head into the wilderness of Wadi Rumm. The main route to Wadi Rum, and the small village of Rum, branches east off the Desert Highway about five kilometres south of Quweira and 25 kilometres north of Aqaba. From there the road extends about 35 kilometres through the desert to end at Rum. There are not a lot of regular buses going in this direction, but it is possible to hitch your way. People are friendly, and willing to give you a ride, but may expect payment.
