Iraq Al Amir A short drive west of Amman and a good daytrip is Iraq al Amir. It's one of the very few Hellenistic sites in Jordan. The Greek Castle of Iraq al Amir is located in the Wadi Seer Valley. The remains date back to the 2nd century and are surrounded by a moat. Nearby you find the the ruins of Qasr al Abid Castle, and some caves kwown as the Iraq al Amir.
