Tehran The Grand Bazaar is a must-see tourist attraction. Elsewhere in the city there are plenty of shopping areas full of boutiques and small to medium sized shops, and a few big shopping malls in the city. Note: Credit Cards such as MasterCard, Visa, AmericanExpress etc are not widely used in Iran. Credit/Debit cards bearing the Maestro and Cyrus logos may be useless. Iran has its own local debit/credit system. Make sure to consult your travel agent before going to Iran, you may need money in form of travellers cheque or cash (US Dollars, Pound Sterling and Euro being the most popular). Some hotels and traditional handicraft shops do take credit cards, but you cannot rely on credit cards for most things.
