Nouristan Nuristan which means the land noors is located in North East of Afghanistan bordering the country of Pakistan. Nooristan was just big town until late 2001 when after the fall of Taliban it became a province for the first time in the history of Afghanistan. Nooristan is famous beacuse the Nooristanis are the last ethenic group in the whole Afghanistan which accepted islam. They accepted islam in late 1800s when Afghanistan was under the control of respectful King Abdul Rahman Khan who was a pushton from the city of Kandahar. He massacred thousands of nooristanis and forced them to convert to islam. Today Nooristan is a peaceful undestructed area of Afghanistan and the people of nooristan are friendly and are also good hosts.
