Arusha Arusha is one of the bigger cities in the north of Tanzania close to the border with Kenya. It is well known as an African congress centre and the International Tribunal for the Ruandese genocide is located here. Arusha is also an excellent base for visiting the Arusha National Park where you find a wide range of habitats, from the string of crater lakes where many water birds can be watched, through the highland mountain forest and on up to the imposing summit of Mt. Meru.
